Safe house

FREEDA offer safe house accommodation for women and children escaping domestic abusive relationships. FREEDA has trained staff who can support clients with the tools they need to live a life free from fear. FREEDA offer a safe place to women with or without children who are experiencing domestic abuse.

What can the safe house staff help with?

FREEDA employ a person-centred approach and understand that the needs of each client are individual. FREEDA staff are there to help support clients with the emotional impact of domestic abuse in a safe and non-judgmental environment, to empower women to develop their autonomy and independence free from abuse.

FREEDA staff can also help with:

  • Safety planning

  • Support in finding appropriate accommodation

  • Budgeting/ Income support benefits

  • Accessing GP services

  • Support with legal advice from specialised services

  • Support with training/education and employment

  • Accessing nurseries and schools

  • Accessing support for Immigration issues

Whether you are in safe house accommodation, or a client we see in the community, a support worker will be allocated to meet with you on a regular basis to support you with the emotional/practical/safety support you need. Meeting regularly will enable you to discuss any concerns or worries that you have. Our support is client led and we will be guided by you on how much support you would like to empower you on your journey to a new beginning.
